The Blood-type Diet was developed by naturopathic doctor Peter D’Adamo and published in the book “Eat Right for your type”, in 1996. The idea is that each blood group avoids or prioritizes certain foods.

According to the characteristics of the individual, the correct ingredient can help in inflammatory processes, improve the immune system and promote metabolism. The result is weight loss, well-being, improved emotional state, and change in inhabits.

Knowing the blood type, O, A, B, or AB, is important to understand the need of the organism, and even to avoid those foods that do not fit well. The food discipline maintains the pH closer to the alkaline.

Neutrals: they are neither good nor bad. They do not cure diseases and can be consumed frequently or not. Always in moderation

Does it help you lose weight?

Since the diet recommends that either blood type avoid processed foods and eat healthily, you can lose weight. It focuses on real, healthy foods and puts them into a routine, instead of letting you follow the ordinary behavior that can lead you to gain weight. You can see results in just one week, depending on what you ate before.

Advantages and disadvantages

It is a simple diet to follow and to have discipline since it is only to follow the foods that are authorized according to the Blood-type. It also does not require spending on special foods.

On the other hand, it is difficult to keep up with the family. Each member of the household would have to follow their diet. For some people, restricting a food group can cause a lack of nutrients and cause health problems. It is advisable to consult a doctor to assess the possibility.
